In addition to our technologies, we also offer an R&D service. Our team of research engineers conducts chamber and laboratory experiments on request to study specific preservation by food matrices. To date, more than 60 trials have been conducted on different varieties in order to determine the optimal storage protocol.
This is a solution that suits us perfectly, both in terms of the quality of the cold which allows us to preserve our fruit very well, but also in terms of the financial and energy cost which is becoming a major issue today at a time when we are experiencing significant increases in the price of energy.

For a 700kg pallet of plums, under normal refrigeration, we could lose up to 11kg overnight per pallet. With HDCold®, we now lose no more than 1kg overnight, which is about ten hours, and that's still a huge difference. We haven't had any disease or storage incidents to report in the last three years, not a single problem. HDCold® has completely transformed our work practices.

After a year, the plum trees remain a vibrant green, there is no mold on the roots, and the buds have not yet burst and are still intact in their overwintering stage. Even the tips of the above-ground parts remain a healthy green.
To install a new refrigerator, I chose the standard cooling option with HDCold®. It guaranteed better fruit preservation, especially for apples like Chantecler and Goldrush, less wilting, less weight loss and better storage which proved beneficial over the two years I have experience with it.
The first Reine-Claude plums stored using HDCold® refrigeration have yielded excellent results. This system preserves the fruit without dehydration, which is essential for such a delicate product. The plums emerge intact, with the same quality as when they were first picked. Furthermore, HDCold® reduces energy consumption thanks to intelligent ventilation management, which is more efficient than traditional refrigeration.
We had already equipped two of our sites with HDCold® technology, and indeed, the products are completely different, we have increased longevity and a product quality that is much better than with our previous installation.
In the nursery, the most important factor is the quality of storage, particularly minimizing dehydration of rootstocks and scions. Since using HDCold®, we've noticed a significant reduction in dehydration: weight loss has gone from 18-20% to approximately 0.8-1.5%.
